August

Before August got crazy, we visited the art museum one day. They had some cool exhibits. So fun.

August has been a hefty month, but this will be a brief post.

Where do I start? Well, I guess I’ll start with the end of July. My husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. Yay, us. But then, at the beginning of August, my husband had a heart attack. What a shock to all of us. He’s doing well now, but as you can imagine, it’s been crazy. And no homeschooling has gotten done, but that’s okay. One of the perks of homeschooling is that when there’s an emergency, everything can go on hold for awhile. And, technically, it’s still summer, so there’s that.

August is also birthday month for my boys. (I told you it was a hefty month, didn’t I?) Now I have a 10-year-old and 13-year-old. Can you believe it? I now have a teenager. And no more single-digit-aged kids. This is so hard for me to believe. Where has the time gone?! We’ll be starting 7th grade and 4th grade as soon as I can wrap my head around it.

It’s been such an eventful month. Lots of driving. Lots of appointments. Lots of stuff, but most of it has been good. We have been warmed and eternally grateful by the outpouring of support and heartened by the excellent staff at our local hospital and doctor’s office. This month, though difficult, has showed us the best side of humanity, and that’s been a very positive thing to see.

It’s all part of our Life’s journey, the boys’ life-long education, and we’re very grateful for that right now.

Please tell me about your summer.
