Thank you for your comment, unpreparedmommy! You know, sometimes my two-year-old has an off day, and I spend time with him, and I think “What are his unmet needs?!” Sometimes you do all you can do and nothing works. But it’s at those times they probably need you most to just be there with them while they’re having a bad day. Thankfully that doesn’t happen too often.

I really like this take on it. I have a pretty cranky baby and I find myself scrambling around to get things done when he is finally content in his bouncy seat for a brief few minutes. However, today I let the house go and I sat and talked with, rather cooed with, my 2 month old and it was just what he needed
